Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation
Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation (CARF) was founded on May 29, 2008. CARF is committed to protect and safeguard the welfare of (stray) animals on the island of Curaçao.
CARF's mission is geared towards the following key goals:
- Creating and raising awareness on proper animal care;
- Fostering and caring of abandoned and neglected stray animals;
- Placement of strays through an adoption program with suitable families.
CARF is always looking for volunteers willing to help and that can work independently. The work is not only very grateful but also fun and educational. So if you want to help us do something about the enormous problem of stray animals on the island and can work independently, please contact us. We are open to a number of initiatives.
Strays captured in a poor health condition are spread over several CARF foster homes. After rehabilitation they are ready to be adopted. Looking for a buddy? Check out our list of adoptable dogs.
Our dogs are just as sweet, smart and watchful as purebred dogs at just a fraction of the cost. Additionally, these "Westpointers" are healthier and often live longer.
