CARF Luther

Meet Luther. This guy was picked up as a stray one week ago on Martin Luther King Day. Seems he had been roaming for a few days already. He was scanned for a microchip right away but unfortunately did not have one. He was covered in ticks and full of worms. Surrounding shopkeepers and security guards were informed to contact us if anyone came asking or looking for him and he was posted on the local Lost and Found-Facebook pages. To date no one has come forward.

Three days into our care, Luther suddenly started violently vomiting all his meals and even water. We found a decomposing piece of corn with husk and all!

In the meantime, we made an emergency appointment at the vet clinic to check for any possible blockage or other complications. Luckily, it seemed he was able to get it out by himself. And off we went with a round of medications and instructions to give him only wet food and to monitor him closely. So scary! Imagine him alone and frightened on the streets and having a blockage.

Luther is doing well and has been age appropriately vetted. As soon as he is finished with his treatments full blood-work will be done.

If you are able to contribute even a small amount towards his veterinary expenses we would be very grateful!
