🐾 UPDATE: It's been a while since we last posted about Emma and we know that many of you are waiting for an update. Well, we have a lot of catching up to do.

🤕 Due to unknown reasons, Emma has contracted a severe bacterial infection in her leg. We suspect she has an old bite wound that got infected, despite her taking daily antibiotics. The tissue on a large part of her paw has died. We don’t want to compromise this poor girl's health any further, so we're going to follow our vet's advice and will probably have to have her leg amputated when she has gained more of her strength. We now this may sound like bad news, but we know from experience that three-legged dogs can live long, happy, healthy lives. We've seen it before and we are confident that Emma will not be an exception.

💉 On a more positive note, Emma had full bloodwork done and the results are looking good. She does not have heart worm disease, which is very, very good news. She has also gained some weight, is clearly feeling more energetic, and has become very affectionate and cuddly. She is still far from being 100%, but she is certainly on the right path and has an amazing support system right behind her every step of the way. Her awesome foster and the staff at Claus Clinic have been more than amazing and the key components to making little Emma keep pushing to better herself.

❤️ Please send all the good vibes her way and if you would like to contribute to her care, please feel free to visit www.carfcuracao.com/donate-carf to check out our different donation options. You go Emma!
